Context
TYPO 六 explores typography as a relational practice.
Developed in the context of a cultural exchange the project revolves around the word wall — Mauer and 墙 (qiáng) — a term deeply charged in both German and Chinese cultural histories.
Across six typographers from Berlin and Beijing, the work unfolds as a flowing process of successive inscription, where form is continuously re-encountered, transformed, and carried forward.
The work positions typography as a medium of cultural negotiation, where translation unfolds through form shaped by translation, tension and transformation rather than explanation.
